Artist Statement
CHAMIN is a UK-based artist and 3D animator whose work explores the intersection of reality and virtual intervention. Using 3D programs and videography, she constructs a god-like perspective that observes and manipulates reality as though it were a computer simulation. Her creative process often involves collecting random online footage to forge unexpected connections, embracing spontaneity as a driving force.
Through her art, CHAMIN delves into themes of destiny, free will, and inevitability, questioning the boundaries between human agency and predetermined outcomes. By simulating uncontrollable consequences from an omniscient viewpoint, her work reflects on the simulation hypothesis—a theory that suggests our reality might be an artificial construct. This perspective invites viewers to confront their insecurities about the unpredictability of the future and to embrace the beauty of life's uncontrollable nature.
She often adds distorted outlines using Blender to visualize time’s linearity, portraying fate as predetermined. Her work challenges audiences to reconsider their perceptions of control and to find meaning in the unexpected. Ultimately, CHAMIN’s art serves as a meditation on the tension between human intention and the forces that shape our lives, encouraging a deeper appreciation for the unknown.
